Cute-isms by Ebby Beesley

Last night, after Ebby finally got put down for the night and Autumn was fed, Andrew and I got to game together. It was like the first time since Autumn was born and of course Autumn started crying. As we were trying to calm her we heard Ebby say, (from his room with his white noise machine all the way up) "Bay-bee? Bay-bee? Bay-bee!?"

Ebby usually naps til 5. That is to say he stays in his crib til 5. He normally likes the 'quiet' time and I love the quiet time. Anyway, today Andrew and I were finally tuning the piano and lost track of time. At 5:30 (when we went by his room to get some wood glue) we heard him call out, "Hey?" over and over again. So cute!

***Time out for Ebby is having all the doors in our little hallway closed and a gate put up - a little time out penalty box if you will. Which means when ever we need it we have to take the time to put it together. Knowing that will make this next 'cute-ism' make sense.

Ebby's starting to really understand us. He gets so excited when he can understand. When we were coming in from our walk this afternoon he decided that that was the perfect time to climb the stairs outside. After many attempts to stop him Andrew said, "Do you want to go in time out?" Ebby response with, "YEAH!" And then he points to the gate (as it's being put up) mumbles excitedly and waits patiently while Andrew puts up time out. It's only after he's placed inside and Andrew walks away that he started to cry. Oh, Ebby.

Tonight (after Ebby was supposed to be sleeping) we, or rather Autumn, needed the swing we left in his room. When Andrew went in to get it he found Ebby laying down with his blanket over his head (to block out the non-existent light?).
Ebby: "Hey?"
Andrew: "It's ok Ebby. I'm just talking your swing for Autumn. Go back to sleep. I love you."
Ebby: probably wasn't but TOTALLY sounded like, "Yeah, you do." Head drops back down.
Quiet.

Some videos!

I'm so amazed at how big and beautiful she's gotten in just 3 weeks!

I'm also amazed at how well Ebby's talking now. It seems like every day there's a noticeable difference in his communication skills.

We had a growing water leak in our bathroom. So, management decided to fix it and redo the floor. (I don't know why someone thought wood flooring in a bathroom was a good idea, but at least now they're replacing it with tile.) Anyway, the work has pushed all our bath stuff onto the floor of our guest bathroom. When I went to check on Ebby (he was being way too quiet) I found him playing with one of my perfume bottles. I HAD to get the camera.
