Pictures of Kaylee's Baby Blessing
Thank you to everyone for making Kaylee's blessing special for us. I love seeing so many loved ones loving my baby girl.
And a big shout out it my sister-in-law for taking the pictures. Karly you totally rock!

Grandma Jesse and Grandpa Bud couldn't make the blessing but we loved enjoying an afternoon visit with them. And so did Kaylee.

Ebby's Potty Trained ... or ... Worst week ever!
| Autumn decided she wanted to potty train too. Until about five minutes later when she relieved herself all over Andrew. |
| Since our whole house is carpeted except the kitchen and dining room, we took out our table and gave Ebby a safe play area. |
I've been dreading this moment
for over a year now, mostly because I didn't have a clue as to how to potty
train but also because Ebby is SO stubborn. (A little reminder: Last year we
tried to make him eat his vegetables. On our doctor's suggestion, we offered only
vegetables for lunch and dinner for two weeks. You'd think that would have broken
him but he just starved his way through the two weeks. It broke me.) Needless
to say, I was mentally preparing myself for the worst.
I wanted to prepare Ebby too, so all
during Christmas break in Utah I kept reminding him that once we got home he
was going to go 'poo-poo' and 'pee-pee' in the potty. He seemed indifferent
about it.
Little did I know that Andrew would
be sick when we got home. I thought, it’s ok, I can still do this. Sharon
started him on the right path during her visit in November. It'll be ok. Then
I got sick. It's fine. Then Kaylee started getting sick. Still
determined to try. Autumn broke out in a rash. Really? Come on world
stop it! I was five minutes late for Kaylee's doctor's appointment and the
nurse said I'd have to reschedule. I'll tell you what you can do with your
rescheduled appointment you mean, MEAN woman. You try to get two sick kids and
a recently potty trained toddler across town right before nap time while sick
and suffering a migraine and see how much you want to reschedule. That's
only what I thought of course. I did however voice my ... 'concerns' with
Andrew that afternoon. Poor guy.
Then I went to church yesterday with
Ebby and Autumn. We were pretty sure Kaylee had an eye infection so Andrew stayed home with her. Autumn's rash seemed to be better and my illness was
manageable with medication. I was changing Autumn's diaper during the second
hour while I talked with another woman in the ward in the mother's lounge when
the massive number two decided to roll out of the diaper I set aside and
stopped near Autumn's face. Really world. I want to cry. Then Ebby was
so difficult in primary that the teachers decided only mommy could deal with
him. Then in Relief Society the president made the announcement that Hand, Foot and Mouth disease was going around the primary/nursery. I stayed all three hours but I was so happy when it came time to leave. I
believe I set a new world record for getting home from church.
But through it all, somehow, Ebby
got potty trained. Honestly I have no idea how that happened. I'm just grateful
it did.
Update: Autumn's rash is still a
mystery but it's gone. Andrew is better and is gone on another interview. I'm a
little better but the migraine is lingering. And Kaylee has an eye and ear
infection.
I sure hope next week is better than
this one.
